The End of the World

With all of the massive earthquakes going on recently, one can only wonder, is it the end of the world as we know it? There have been four major earthquakes above 5.0 on the Rhichter Scale in four major countries. So this poses the question: are these catastrophic events leading up to the end of the world? Scientists say that the recent shifting of earth's plates is completely normal and that we shouldn't worry about, yet some people are still convinced that 2012 will be our absolute demise.
I think that the world will not end in 2012. I also think that it is just a myth. I wish people would stop talking about it because no one knows for sure; we can't just say so because of some stupid Mayan calendar. I wish people would realize that we can't believe everything we read and hear. Sometimes things are just stories to get people going. The world won't end in 2012, and we are going to be okay.

  1. I agree with Taylor. I don't think the world will end in 2012. People have predicted for the world to end thousands of times in the past, and it has obviously never happened. It is normal for people to predict the world ending, because nobody knows for sure when it will happen. People will continue to predict when the world will end until it actually does. However I don't believe it will end in 2012.

  2. I agree with both of you. People got all worked up about the world ending in the year 2000 and nothing happened. Also the amount of earthquakes were experiencing this year is normal. The only reason they seem more significant is because there occuring in major cities and recieving more publicity from high death totals and destruction.
